Deep tissue massage aims to reach the deeper layer of muscles, helping release the tension and breaking up adhesions in the muscle fibres and connective tissue. Deep tissue massage helps to manage your pain, improve stiffness and increase your range of motion.
Relax and soften your muscles
Many people do not realise that relaxation is one of the benefits of deep tissue massage, helping the muscles soften. Softened muscles help the therapist reach the deeper layers without causing discomfort.
Deep tissue massage is usually associated with extreme pressure. Most people describe a good pain(if you feel it, you will know it) over the tension areas. It should NEVER be severe pain.
With communication both at the beginning of your appointment and during your massage, we will work out what level of pressure is best suited to you.

A neck, back, and shoulder massage is a 45-minute treatment that targets and focuses on the upper body. With techniques taken from a deep tissue massage, this massage uses a mix of trigger point therapy to help break up adhesions. The neck, back, and shoulder muscles are warmed, loosened and deeply massaged to release any tension you are holding. We can also massage your head and face with the same techniques.
A neck, back and shoulder massage can relieve tension headaches, loosen up tight shoulders and help relieve pain in the neck and back.

Despite the myths you may have heard, there is no magic eject button that will accidentilly disrupt your pregnancy.
At De Massage Artiest we do wait though until 12 weeks before giving a prenatal massage. This is because it may trigger dizziness adding to morning sickness
